How We Secure Your Information
Maintaining the security of company computer systems that help us operate our electric and gas systems is a top priority in our overall effort to ensure safety, reliability, and customer privacy. We take security seriously and use every reasonable precaution to protect company information assets.
We know that good security does not happen in isolation. We are committed to working with our partners, vendors, regulators and customers in order to ensure our security controls meet or exceed industry standards by allowing us to continue to deliver energy safely and reliably.

Community Fire Safety Program
Being prepared for an emergency is an ongoing effort and is one that SDG&E takes very seriously. For us, preparation is a key component of delivering safe and reliable energy. That is why we have created a Community Fire Safety Program within SDG&E that also stretches to the community as a whole.
This effort not only examines our system so that we can provide the safest means of delivering power to all our customers, but it also involves working with representatives from 40 different groups, including water districts, schools, the County of San Diego, fire agencies, telecommunications companies, disability rights groups and residents, to ensure that proper communication measures are in place in the event that an emergency situation arises.
With all of our help we will work to prevent fires from…

High Usage Charge
High Usage Charge Eliminated
As part of ongoing rate relief, the California Public Utilities Commission approved SDG&E’s request to eliminate the High Usage Charge effective June 1, 2021.
Previously, SDG&E’s residential customers on eligible pricing plans would be subject to paying the High Usage Charge if they used energy above 400% of their baseline allowance.
What to expect on your bill
In April 2021, SDG&E upgraded its My Account and billing system to better serve customers. Additional steps are being taken to remove any reference to the High Usage Charge on customer bills. While we reprogram this aspect of the bill production, customers on the standard DR pricing plan may see references to the High Usage Charge on their monthly statements until these bill changes are finalized.
It is important…
