Latest News and Updates
The Green Tariff Shared Renewables (GTSR) Program was created by Senate Bill (SB) 43, and consists of a Green Tariff (GT) option and an Enhanced Community Renewables (ECR) component. These programs will provide customers, including local governments, businesses, schools, homeowners, municipal customers, and renters new renewable energy rate options. Through the GTSR program, customers are allowed to purchase renewable energy from new community-based projects.
This page provides an overview of the ECR component for interested developers, which is branded by SDG&E as “EcoShareSM." SDG&E is committed to ensuring all customers have access to renewable energy and look forward to working with EcoShare developers to help make this possible.

SDG&E Transmission System Overview
The San Diego Gas & Electric’s (SDG&E) transmission system (69 kV and above) is under the operational control of the California Independent System Operator (CAISO). Interconnection of generation facilities to the SDG&E transmission system is subject to the CAISO Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) approved Generation Interconnection Procedures (GIP) tariff. Projects proposing to interconnect to the SDG&E transmission system (transmission lines and transmission substations) are studied in a cluster. In order to evaluate the feasibility of an individual project, as far as transmission capacity is concerned, all projects in that cluster need to be considered to identify the available capacity. San Diego Gas & Electric’s (SDG&E)…
Gas & Electric Standard Fundamentals for Solar PV Systems
Many residential properties in our territory receive both gas and electric service. When designing and installing a solar photovoltaic (PV) system, the Gas Standard for safety must be followed when the electrical panel is in the vicinity of the gas meter assembly.
Important steps for all work related to electrical or gas work:
Review and comply with the relevant Electric and Gas Standards
Any violation of the Gas Standard will delay issuing the Permission to Operate (PTO) for that PV system. If an operating PV system is discovered to…

Affiliate Name: SDG&E
Information transferred: On March 22, 2011, an SDG&E attorney learned that she had inadvertently sent to a Sempra Generation attorney, about a week before, a confidential Protest by the Division of Ratepayer Advocates to SDG&E Advice Letter No. 2223-E. She did so in response to a request by the Sempra Generation attorney for a copy of the public Advice Letter. The DRA Protest describes a particular commercial term in the Power Purchase Agreement at issue in the Advice Letter. The Sempra Generation attorney who received DRA’s Protest has agreed to destroy his copy of the Protest, and not to disseminate any further non-public information contained in it.
