EcoShare

EcoShare is a cleaner, greener option. When you enroll in EcoShare, you’ll be able to purchase the rights to a portion of the energy generated from a new renewable energy facility, which supports the continued development of cleaner energy.

EcoChoice

How It Works

When you enroll in EcoShare, you’ll be connected with a local renewable energy developer. You’ll be able to purchase  a portion of the energy generated from a new renewable energy facility, which supports the continued development of cleaner energy.

The developer sets the terms of the agreement and your energy price. Participating developers also enter into an agreement with us, and we pay them for the energy generated in excess of what their customers have purchased.

As an EcoShare participant, you’ll receive two bills each month:

  1. Your normal SDG&E bill with a credit for the amount of renewable energy you purchased.

  2. A different bill from the developer for the renewable energy they produced for you.

SDG&E’s terms and conditions, as well as the value of the bill credit received from us, are outlined in the EcoShare tariff. A minimum one year agreement is required and termination fees may apply.

Participating Developers

There are currently no developers with an active EcoShare Power Purchase Agreement. We will notify you of developers building community interest for future projects.

If a developer has contacted you and you want to know if they are participating in EcoShare, or if you would like to report a problem with a developer, please email us at CTTS@sdge.com or call 1-800-411-7343

If you’re a developer who would like to participate in our EcoShare program, start by learning more about the program.
