Important Information: Medical Baseline Program and CARE CCA customers

Starting on Jan. 1, 2019, Medical Baseline and CARE customers have a new charge on their energy bill due to a regulatory change, adopted July 2018, by the California Public Utilities Commission (CPUC). This charge is called the Power Charge Indifference Adjustment (PCIA) and it  covers the cost of energy purchased on behalf of customers prior to their switch to a Community Choice Aggregation program (CCA).

There is no change to your Medical Baseline allowance and/or your CARE discount.

To help you prepare  for this change we have programs, solutions and tips that may help you save.

If you participate in CARE, Medical Baseline (or both programs) please select the drop-down below that best describes your situation:

On January 1, 2019 you’ll continue to receive your CARE discount. However, as required by the CPUC decision, you will begin paying the PCIA.  This means that your bill will look a little different because there will be a new line item for the PCIA.
